What is this test?
Spirometry measures how well your lungs move air in and out.
Why is it performed?
It helps diagnose and monitor conditions such as asthma, COPD and other breathing disorders.
How is it performed?
You will take a deep breath and blow forcefully into a mouthpiece several times.
Before your test
Follow any medication instructions provided by our team and wear comfortable clothing.
What is this test?
DLCO measures how efficiently oxygen passes from your lungs into your bloodstream.
Why is it performed?
It helps assess lung diseases affecting the air sacs or lung circulation.
How is it performed?
You will breathe in a small amount of test gas, hold your breath briefly, then breathe out.
Before your test
Avoid smoking before your appointment if possible and follow any preparation instructions provided.
What is this test?
FOT measures how easily air moves through your airways during normal breathing.
Why is it performed?
It can detect small airway problems that may not be identified by standard lung function tests.
How is it performed?
You simply breathe normally through a mouthpiece while gentle sound waves measure airway function.
Before your test
No special effort is required. Follow any medication instructions provided by our team.
What is this test?
FeNO measures inflammation in your airways.
Why is it performed?
It helps diagnose and monitor asthma and assess response to treatment.
How is it performed?
You will slowly breathe out into a handheld device.
Before your test
Avoid eating, drinking or strenuous exercise immediately before testing unless advised otherwise.
What is this test?
A simple test that checks for allergies to common environmental or food allergens.
Why is it performed?
It helps identify allergy triggers contributing to respiratory or nasal symptoms.
How is it performed?
Small drops of allergen are placed on your skin and the surface is gently pricked. Results are usually available within 15–20 minutes.

Some allergy medications may need to be stopped before testing. Our team will advise you.
What is this test?
A home sleep study records your breathing and oxygen levels while you sleep in your own home.
Why is it performed?
It helps diagnose obstructive sleep apnoea and other sleep-related breathing disorders.
How is it performed?
You will be shown how to apply a small monitoring device before going to sleep at home.
Before your test
Our team will explain how to use the equipment and provide written instructions before your appointment.
What is this test?
A nasal endoscopy allows the doctor to examine the inside of your nose and upper airway.
Why is it performed?
It helps investigate nasal blockage, chronic sinus symptoms and upper airway conditions.
How is it performed?
A thin flexible camera is gently passed through the nose after applying a local anaesthetic spray if required.
Before your test
No special preparation is usually required.
What is this test?
Rhinomanometry measures airflow through your nose.
Why is it performed?
It helps assess nasal obstruction and breathing difficulties.
How is it performed?
You will breathe normally through each nostril while airflow and pressure are measured.
Before your test
Please avoid using nasal sprays unless advised otherwise.
What is this test?
This test measures the strength of your breathing muscles.
Why is it performed?
It helps assess muscle weakness that may contribute to breathlessness.
How is it performed?
You will breathe in and out through a mouthpiece while performing several short breathing manoeuvres.
Before your test
No special preparation is usually required.
What is this test?
This test measures how far you can comfortably walk in six minutes.
Why is it performed?
It helps assess your exercise capacity and oxygen levels during activity.
How is it performed?
You will walk at your own pace along a marked corridor while our staff monitor you.
Before your test
Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes, and bring any walking aids you normally use.
What is this test?
A chest ultrasound uses sound waves to examine the lungs and the space around them.
Why is it performed?
It helps assess fluid around the lungs and other pleural conditions.
How is it performed?
A small ultrasound probe is moved over the chest with a water-based gel.

No special preparation is required.
What is this test?
This test assesses whether your airways are unusually sensitive.
Why is it performed?
It helps diagnose asthma when routine lung function tests are inconclusive.
How is it performed?
You will inhale increasing doses of mannitol while your lung function is measured after each dose.
Before your test
Certain inhalers and medications may need to be withheld before the test. Our team will provide detailed instructions.
What is this test?
An in-lab sleep study is a comprehensive overnight assessment that monitors your sleep, breathing, heart rate, oxygen levels, brain activity and body movements while you sleep.
Why is it performed?
It helps diagnose sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea, central sleep apnoea, abnormal sleep behaviours, movement disorders and other conditions affecting sleep quality.
How is it performed?
You will spend the night in our comfortable sleep laboratory. A qualified sleep technician will apply small sensors before you go to sleep. The test is painless, and your sleep is monitored throughout the night.
Before your test
Attend as instructed, avoid caffeine and alcohol on the day of your study unless advised otherwise, and bring any regular medications, comfortable sleepwear and personal toiletries.
